Welcome to Lee County's Pine Lake Preserve located in Bonita Springs, Florida. This swath of wetlands and oak, pine, and cypress forest was first purchased by Lee County in 2000 for a price of almost $2.4M and today it protects wildlife habitat for American alligators, raccoons, grey squirrels, herons, sandpipers, gopher tortoises, and many others. For the human visitor this preserve makes an excellent place for bird watching and also has hiking trails just waiting to be explored. Just try not to encounter any hungry gators when you are here.
