Calling all history buffs, hikers, and paddlers! Take a walk along Paynes Creek and the Peace
River at the Paynes Creek Historic State Park for an insightful view into Florida’s wildlife and
nature. This Florida jewel offers visitors the chance to canoe, kayak, fish, and swim on 37,680
acres of land!There’s something for everyone on these serene trails that include plenty of benches and well-
maintained amenities, such as pavilions, playgrounds, and restrooms. There’s also an old fort and trading post in the state park, which were both built by early settlers. You can further learn about this topic at the state park’s visitor center and museum. They’re both open 9am-5pm Monday. through Thursday.
Admission costs are $3 per motor vehicle, a small price to explore this state park. You can even
rent a picnic pavilion for $30 a day! Check out the Florida state park website for more
