Welcome to Reverend Samuel Delevoe Park located in Fort Lauderdale. This park started off in 1952 as a private golf course and was purchased by the Devcon International Corporation in 1973 whom decided to develop the site's bedrock resources and then donate the land to Broward County. The site was first established as a park in 1975 and was named River Bend Park due to it's location. In 1979 the park was renamed to honor one of the first African American cops on the Fort Lauderdale Force, Reverend Samuel Delevoe who was also an active politician, civil rights, leader, businessman, and reverend. Today this park boasts two fishing piers, a volleyball court, a game room, a fitness, center, two full lighted basketball courts, a playground for the kids, and much more. Come on out and have fun!
