Fort Lauderdale Park Rules

For your own safety and for the safety of those around you the City of Fort Lauderdale has passed some laws regulating the use of the parks.

*All parks may only be used during the hours of operation. It is a crime to remain in the park after posted hours.

*The cutting or removal of any plants is prohibited without Departmental approval.

*Fishing is allowed only in designated areas. All State of Florida fishing laws apply.

*All social services and business activities require special permit.

*Unless done for a special event under special permit, fireworks are prohibited.

*With the exception of service dogs, animals are very restricted in Fort Lauderdale's Parks. On the Riverwalk, beaches, and in Snyder Park they are allowed with a leash no longer than 6 feet and all waste must be removed.

*NO LITTERING! Please place all trash in proper containers.

*Sleeping is not allowed in any of the parks.

*No soliciting or vending without special permit.

*Consumption of alcoholic beverages is prohibited.

*All motor vehicles including boats must stay in designated areas.

*The following conditions make swimming a no go at the beaches; bad weather, improper attire (no shoes and no long pants), all children must be supervised.

*All scuba divers must be accompanied by at least one other diver and may not venture further than 100 yards offshore.

*No spear guns.

*Scuba instruction is prohibited.

*Surfing is only allowed in designated areas.

*Kite flying, frisbee, or any type of ball game is only allowed in designated areas on the beach.

*All federal, state, and local statutes apply.

Please respect these rules and the parks. Come on out and have a blast!
