Welcome to Lake Talquin State Forest located just west of the Florida State Capitol on the banks of the Ochlockonee River and the shores of Lake Talquin. Lake Talquin State Forest was established in 1977.

Flora and Fauna: Lake Talquin State Forest helps protect the home of numerous plant and animals species. Some of the plants that grow inside the forest boundaries include dogwoods, pines, sweetgums, water oaks, red maples, sweetbays, turkey oaks, and cypresses. Some of the wild animals who call this place home include bald eagles, bobcats, coyotes, white-tailed deer, fox squirrels, and wild turkeys. Please treat their home with respect.
