Ecofina River State Park

Welcome to Florida's Ecofina River State Park located on the Gulf Coast near Lamont, not too far from the state capitol.

Park History: During the Civil War, people who left the confederacy hid out in the area that is now Ecofina River State Park and helped assist ships of the Union Navy carrying Confederate P.O.W's and supplies. In more recent times the river's fish and mullet have been harvested. Today Ecofina River State Park is a popular fisherman's destination where one can catch bass and bream.

Flora and Fauna: This park's wetlands help to protect the ocean from water pollution and provide habitat for numerous plant and animal species. Some of these include black bears, white-tailed deer, bobcats, otters, bald eagles, cabbage palms, St. John's worts, oaks, palmettos, and many others. Please treat their home with respect when visiting.

Aside from being a fisherman's paradise Ecofina River State Park also boasts boat ramp access to the Ecofina River, multipurpose trails, and more. Come out and explore.
