Osprey, Florida

Welcome to Oscar Scherer State Park, one of the best birding destinations in southwest Florida. Many come here from miles around with the hopes of seeing ospreys, bald eagles, pelicans, seagulls, Florida scrub-jays, and many others. There are also fishing opportunities in both saltwater and freshwater and canoes and kayaks can be rented. There are also miles of multipurpose trails including the rails to trails Legacy Trail, a paved multipurpose trail that was once a railroad bed.
