John Chestnut Sr. Park
Welcome to John Chestnut Sr. Park located on the southeast shore of Lake Tarpon in Palm Harbor, Florida. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers helped Pinellas County to develop this park and the park is named after a mid-20th century county commissioner who helped organize the park board and did many great things for the county parks. All 13 of the park's picnic shelters have grills so one can bring some meats for cooking.
Boating: Chestnut Park has a boat ramp that gives boaters access to Lake Tarpon which is about 1 mile wide, 5 miles long, and 12 feet deep. Comme out and do some fishing or water-skiing.
Hiking: John Chestnut Sr. Park has 3 hiking trails each about 3,000 feet in length. While on the trails one may see some aligators, raccoons, gopher tortoises and many others. Please treat their home with respect when visiting.
