Welcome to Gillespie Park in Sarasota, Florida, a suburb of Tampa. This park was named for the first mayor of Sarasota, John Hamilton Gillespie. The picnic area at Gillespie Park has grills and the basketball court has lights for evening activity.

*Unless otherwise posted all parks open at 5:00 a.m. and close at 11:00 p.m.

*The following are prohibited; defacing public property, littering.

*The following are only allowed in designated areas; fires, golfing, motor vehicles.

*The following require special permits; archery, flying remote control aircraft, planting.

*All dogs must be leashed and waste removed.
