General Coffee State Park
Welcome to what is considered one of the best kept secrets in South Georgia, the historic General Coffee State Park. This park is well known for it's living history agricultural exhibits and boasts a petting zoo for the kids with goats, donkeys, pigs, and other barnyard creatures. Some of the park's other amenities including campsites, cabins, multipurpose trails, canoe and bicycle rentals and so much more. Come out and have fun.
Park History: General Coffee State Park is named for General John Coffee, a United States Congressman and Military Hero. The park was first established in 1970 when the local landowners generously donated the land to the State of Georgia.
Wildlife: When visiting General Coffee State Park please be respectful to the resident wildlife. Some of the animals found here include the threatened gopher tortoise, American alligators, red-tailed hawks, squirrels, and snapping turtles.
