Welcome to Georgia's Panola Mountain State Park, located in South DeKalb not too far from Panola's two sister peaks, Stone Mountain and Arabia Mountain. This land was first purchased by the State of Georgia in 1969 and today helps protect the habitat of rare plant species. Some of the park's animals include squirrels, raccoons, deer, and foxes. Please treat their home with respect.

As founder of RecPlanet I can tell you about many personal experiences in this park as she was the site of many school and cub scout trips. Due to the fragility of this ecosystem dogs are not allowed in the park and it is forbidden to climb the mountain without being accompanied by a park ranger. However one does not require the presense of a ranger to enjoy the park's fishing ponds, hiking trails, picnic areas, nature center, and playgrounds. Come on out and explore!
