Welcome to Iowa's Pleasant Creek State Recreation Area located on the shores of the beautiful Pleasant Creek Lake not far from the town of Palo. Pleasant Creek State Recreation Area is an oasis for the outdoorsman and boasts nearly everything from over 10 miles of multipurpose trails, 69 developed campsites, a swimming beach, boat ramps, and a lake stocked with largemouth bass, catfish, crappie, and others. Come out and have fun.

Pleasant Creek State Recreation Area was first proposed in the early 1960's when the Iowa State Government looked into the possibility of creating a 410 acre manmade lake to meet the water as well as recreational needs of northeast Iowa. Today Pleasant Creek State Recreation Area is one of the most popular water sports destinations in the state.
