Welcome to Weinberg-King State Fish and Wildlife Area located in the rolling hills of western Illinois on the banks of Williams Creek near Augusta.  

Preserve History: The land that is now Weinberg-King State Fish and Wildlife Area was owned and operated as a farm by the family of Gertrude Allen from 1905-1968. Mrs. Allen donated the land the State in 1968.   Flora and Fauna: This preserve is home to numerous species of plants and animals. Some of the preserve's plants include oaks, walnuts, autumn olives, and many species of wildflower. Some of the preserve's animals include deer, rabbits, squirrels, doves, quails, and wild turkeys. Please treat their home with respect.  

For the lover of the outdoors this preserve boasts over 30 miles of multipurpose trails and four picnic areas. Come on out and explore.
