Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Park

Chicago, Illinois

Welcome to Chicago's Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Park located in the Auburn Gresham section. This park was first established in 1969 about a year after King died and was known for years as Hawthorne Park but was renamed in 2004 in honor of a man who was born in Atlanta, Georgia on January 15, 1929, fought many battles against prejudice, and passed away on April 4, 1968 in Memphis, Tennessee.

To contact the office please call 312-747-2602.

This was RecPlanet place of the day on January 15, 2017 in honor of the man's birthday.
