Welcome to the Cuba Marsh Forest Preserve! This preserve offers quite an oasis for residents and visitors of Lake County! The preserve offers over 3 miles of trails and boasts the longest boardwalk in the Lake County Forest Preserve District.

Preserve History: When the land was first settled by European settlers it was mostly marsh and prairie. Many of the marshes were drained to make way for agricultural development and eventually the farmers sold their land to home builders. Local residents, with concern for the land, banded together to help protect the land through the "Citizens for Conservation."

Today the preserve protects a diverse habitat for a wide range of plants and animals and helps control flooding for residents of of the surrounding communities. Over 80,000 trees have been planted to help restore this preserve. Come on out and explore.
