Welcome to McKinley Woods, an oasis of deep ravines, river bluffs, and woodlands located near Channahon, Illinois.

Preserve History: This park's unique landscape was formed by glacial retreat and deposits at the end of the last ice age over 10,000 years ago. Will County purchased the first tracts of McKinley woods in the 1930's with additional purchases made in the late 20th and early 21st centuries.

For the lover of the outdoors McKinley Woods boasts numerous trails including access to the I&M State Trail, a picnic shelter built by the Civilian Conservation Corps, a canoe launch, and so much more. Come on out and have a blast!
