Fitchie Creek Forest Preserve
Welcome to the Fitchie Creek Forest Preserve, a biologically diverse oasis of forests, ponds, and meadows located in Plato, Illinois along the banks of Fitchie Creek. Some of the trees that help make up this forest include aspens, cottonwoods, plums, cherries, oaks, and hickories. Some of the other plants include wildflowers, and grape vines. This forest is home to such critters as raccoons, squirrels, white tailed deer, and many others. For the human visitor there are trails to be explored. The open field is a great place for kite-flying on windy days.
