Welcome to Hampshire Forest Preserve located off of Allen Road in Hampshire, Illinois. This has been a popular natural playground for both kids and adults for many years. It's trails offer the visitor a majestic array of wildflowers and numerous bird species. Hampshire Forest Preserve is an Oak-Hickory Forest located on high ground inside a glacial moraine. There was a time when this hilltop was surrounded by many prairie wetlands. But over the years the land was drained and plowed.
