Battle of Corydon Memorial Park
Welcome to Battle of Corydon Memorial Park! Only two Civil War Battles were fought on northern soil, one was Gettysburg and the other was the Battle of Corydon right here in Corydon, Indiana. This small 5 acre park is on the National Register of Historic Places and was first donated to Harrison County by the Hays Family in 1975. On July 9, 1863 2,440 Confederate Soldiers under the leadership of General John Hunt Morgan stormed the Harrison County Home Guard here. The site has remained relatively unchanged since. Come on out and learn some history.
