Jackson-Washington State Forest
Welcome to Jackson-Washington State Forest, sprawling across Jackson and Washington Counties in southern Indiana.
Forest History: Most of the Jackson-Washington State Forest was purchased by the State of Indiana in the mid-20th century. Over the years, the Heritage Trust fund, timber sales, and the efforts of other groups have helped to purchase additional acres.
Wildlife: Jackson-Washington State Forest helps protect the home of numerous wild critters including deer, raccoons, foxes, squirrels, rabbits, and coyotes. Please treat their home with respect.
For the lover of the outdoors this forest boasts many miles of multipurpose trails, five fishing lakes, and so much more. Come on out and explore.
