Selmier State Forest

North Vernon, Indiana

Welcome to Selmier State Forest, one of the smallest State Forests in Indiana. The land that is now Selmier State Forest was generously donated by Mrs. Frank Selmier, whose husband had a strong passion for the outdoors and helped plant many trees on the property. Selmier State Forest helps protect the home of numerous plant and animals species. Some of the plants that grow inside the boundaries include pines, sycamores, and black walnuts. Some of the wild animals who call this place home include deer, squirrels, and raccoons. Please treat their home with respect. For the lover of the outdoors this forest boasts several hiking trails. Come on out and explore!
