Welcome to John Taylor Park in Lawrence, Kansas. This park was first established in 1962 as Walnut Park but was renamed in 1978 for a man who was an active member in the local community.

Lawrence Kansas Park Ordinances

*Unless otherwise posted all parks open at 6:00 a.m. and close at 11:00 p.m.

*The following are prohibited; defacing public property, harming wildlife, littering, smoking.

*The following are only allowed in designated areas; fires, motor vehicles.

*All pets must be leashed and waste removed.

*All persons ages 16-64 must have a fishing license to fish.
