Chapin Park

Welcome to Chapin Park located on the banks of the Little Arkansas River in Wichita, Kansas. Believe it or not this piece of land was once an operating landfill and today is one of Wichita's larger and more popular recreation areas and the site of it's first dog park. There is even a remote control aircraft park.

Wichita Park Rules

*Unless otherwise posted all parks open at 6:00 a.m. and close at midnight.

*The following are prohibited; defacing public property, weapons, fireworks, littering, gambling, hunting, harming wild animals.

*The following require special permits; sales, parades, overnight camping, amplified sound, landing of hang-gliders, hot air balloons or skydivers.

*The following are only allowed in designated areas; fires, fishing, motor vehicles, organized athletic play, horseback riding, swimming, golfing, bicycles, flying remote control aircraft, archery.

*All dogs must be leashed and waste removed.

*All persons aged 14 and up are prohibited from using the playground.
