Sandy Point State Park
Welcome to Maryland's beautiful Sandy Point State Park, one of the most popular recreation areas in the Annapolis Area. Many people come to this park's sandy beaches (lifeguards on duty seasonally) on hot summer days to cool down while swimming in the Chesapeake Bay. One of the park's more unique feature's is a 37 foot tall lighthouse that was built in 1883.
Picnicking: People can have a picnic while enjoying the beach at Sandy Point State Park. There are many tables with grills and also 9 shelters with a 140 person capacity two shelters with a 180 person capacity and one with a 300 person capacity. Come out and have a party.
Boating and Fishing: Boaters have easy access to the Chesapeake Bay at one of Sandy Point State Park's 9 boat ramps. One can even rent a boat at the park's marina. The park is also home to some great fishing and also attracts many crabbers seeking a tasty blue crab.
