Elk Neck State Park
Located on the shores of the Chesapeake Bay, the beautiful Elk Neck State Park has been a popular recreation area since it was first established in the 1940's. It's landscapes range from coastal forests and wetlands to sandstone rock formations.
Hunting: During deer season many rifle and bow hunters flock here. A State of Maryland Hunting License is required.
Turkey Point Lighthouse: One of the park's other more unique features is the Turkey Point Lighthouse which was first built in the 1830's. The top of the lighthouse is 139 feet above the bay making for a fantastic view.
Boating: The boat launch facility gives boaters access to the Elk River and thus ultimately to the Chesapeake Bay. Come out and explore.
Picnicking: All picture shelters have grills so bring some meats for cooking.
Camping: The park has over 200 campsites and about 40 of them have electrical hookups. All campsites are within close proximity of showers.
