Wye Oak State Park
Welcome to Maryland's small yet historic Wye Oak State Park located off of State Road 662 near Wye Mills. This park was first established in 1939 with the primary purpose of protecting Maryland's State Tree as well as what was once the largest known white oak in the United States. It's circumference was 31 feet and 8 inches and it stood 96 feet tall. Unfortunately she was lost in a thunderstorm in June of 2002. The special oak may no longer be standing but there is still a historic school house next to it that is still standing.
