Welcome to Paw Paw Prairie Fen Preserve in Mattawan, Michigan. Located in the heart of Michigan's wine country here is a fun fact, the soil conditions that make it a good region for growing wine also help make this preserve rich in biodiversity. While hiking the trail you may encounter a box turtle or even some migratory smallbirds in the fall months. Be alert for the eastern massasauge rattlesnake.
