Stony Creek Metropark

Welcome to the grand and beautiful Stony Creek Metropark located in Shelby, Michigan. On cold and snowy winter days people actually come to this park to go kite-boarding on the lake. On hot summer days many people come here to enjoy the sandy swimming beaches but swim at your own risk because there are no lifeguards on duty. 

Trails: At over 5 times the size of New York City's Central Park Stony Creek Metropark boasts over 27 miles of hiking trails and on clear days on Black Trail at the highest point in Macomb County one can catch a nice view of the Detroit Skyline. 

Boating and Fishing: Stony Creek Lake is 500 acres in size and has a 10 mph speed limit on watercraft. Various non-motorized watercraft can be rented at the park office. The lake is filled with walleye, panfish, pike, and bass and even the largest crappie ever caught in the State of Michigan was caught here.

Disc-Golf: Stony Creek Metro Park is home to a 36 hole disc-golf course that is ranked as one of the most challenging in the State of Michigan. Come out and score a few holes.
