Welcome to Newstrom Lake Wildlife Management Area South Unit in Aitkin, Minnesota. This unit is mostly low ground with brush and grass with small patches of aspen forest. Some of the resident wildlife include bear, deer, waterfowl, and wild turkeys. It's a great place for hunting deer, grouse, and waterfowl and there is a boardwalk hiking trail that extends from the parking lot to the lake. Come out and explore.
