Buena Vista State Forest
Welcome to Buena Vista State Forest located in northern Minnesota in Beltrami and Isasca counties.
Forest History: The landscapes in and around Buena Vista State Forest were carved out by glacial retreat at the end of the last ice age over 10,000 years ago. Buena Vista State Forest was established in 1935 by the Minnesota State Legislature.
Flora and Fauna: Buena Vista State Forest helps protect the home of numerous plant and animals species. Some of the plants that grow inside the forest boundaries include cedars, tamaracks, aspens, and spruces. Some of the wild animals who call this place home include bears, wolves, moose, foxes, raccoons, squirrels, wild turkeys, and hawks. Please treat their home with respect.
