Welcome to Chengwatana State Forest located in eastern Minnesota in Pine and Chisago Counties. The St. Croix, Kettle, and Snake Rivers flow through this forest.

Forest History: In the late 19th century logging was the main commercial activity in the region and over the years millions of board feet were shipped down the rivers to sawmills downstream.

For the lover of the outdoors this forest boasts over 20 miles of multipurpose trails, numerous picnic areas, and much more. Come on out and explore!

This forest grew by 729 acres in size in June 2022.
