Welcome to Minnesota's beautiful Golden Anniversary State Forest. This land was heavily logged in the late 19th and early 20th centuries and in 1961 the State Forest was finally established to mark the Golden Anniversary of DNR Forestry.

Trails: Golden Annviersary State Forest has two trail systems, the Cowhorn Lake Ski Touring and Hiking Trail and the River Road Unit Ski Trail. On snowy winter days the trails are popular with cross-country skiers and they are popular with hikers during the other seasons. Come out and explore.
