Cascade River State Park
Welcome to Cascade River State Park! Park History: Founded in 1957, Cascade River State Park is known for it’s unique geology. Over 1.1 billion years ago, the continental bedrock split apart and molten lava rose up from beneath the planet’s crust and formed the present day bedrock. Over 2 million years ago, glaciers cut the landscape and formed Lake Superior. To this day the forces of erosion persist, from the waves of Lake Superior to the river currents of the Cascade which continue to carve out the gorge. Wildlife: Cascade River State Park helps protect the home of numerous wild critters including moose, bears, wolves, deer, and many others. Please treat their home with respect. For the lover of the outdoors Cascade River State Park boasts over 18 miles of trails, 40 campsites, and so much more. Come on out and have a blast!
