Saint Francois State Park
Welcome to Saint Francois State Park located near Bonne Terre, Missouri. Long before the first Europeans arrived in the region this was prime hunting and fishing ground for Native Americans. During the Civil War it is said that many fugitives used this place for a hideout. In more recent years much of the landscape was mined for it's lead resources. The park is named for nearby Saint Francois County and was first established in 1964.
Flora and Fauna: Some of the park's sycamore trees are over 250 years in age. Some of the wild animals that call this place home include white-tailed deer, squirrels, raccoons, wild turkeys, coyotes, bobcats, and many others. Please treat their home with respect when visiting.
Camping: Saint Francois State Park has dozens of campsites with electricity and water. There are also hot showers and laundry facilities. Come out and stay a few nights.
