Cooley Lake Conservation Area

Welcome to Cooley Lake Conservation Area located in Exelsior Springs, Missouri. Cooley Lake itself, a deep oxbow lake, was once a channel of the Missouri River but every once in a while geological forces cause rivers to change course and lakes are formed. The State of Missouri purchased the first 867 acres of land on October 23, 1979. Come out and explore the trails or do some hunting or fishing.
