Deroin Bend Conservation Area

Fairfax, Missouri

Welcome to Deroin Bend Conservation Area located on the banks of the Missouri River in Fairfax, Missouri. The State of Missouri first purchased this land in the flood of 1993. This preserve is named after the nearby bend which was named for a mid-18th century settler who established a local trading post, Joseph Deroin. The trading post was abandoned in the roaring 1920's. Many anglers come here for catfish and many hunters come for deer.
