Lakewood Greenway and Penguin Park

Kansas City, Missouri

Welcome to Lakewood Greenway and Penguin Park in Kansas City, Missouri. Lakewood Greenway was first established in 1957 and Penguin Park became it's own separate park in 1998. Penguin Park has a statue that was built for Santa's Wonderland in 1965 altough technically this doesn't make a whole lot of sense since Penguins live near the South Pole and Santa lives at the North Pole. The Giant Penguin statue looks very similar to the Penguin from the 1995 Adam Sandler movie Billy Madison.

Picnicking: The picnic shelter at Penguin Park has 10 tables, a seating capacity of 60, and 4 grills. Come out and bring some friends.

These 2 parks touch each other so they share a profile.
