Pershing State Park

Laclede, Missouri

Welcome to Pershing State Park, a wilderness of bottomland forest and wetlands located in Laclede, Missouri. This park was first established in 1937 and is named for a local WWI hero who loved this land in his younger days, General John J. Pershing. The park also helps protect the largest remaining wet prairie in northern Missouri at over 1,000 acres in size. Many bird watchers come here from miles around to seek out barred owls, blue herons, and even bald eagles in the winter. Come out for some hiking and backcountry camping opportunities.

Camping: In addition to the backcountry opportunities Pershing State Park also has a more developed campground with both basic sites and electric sites. Dump stations and bath houses are located nearby. Come out and stay a few nights.

Fishing: Pershing State Park has four fishing lakes filled with bass, bluegill, and catfish. Come out and cast a line.
