Welcome to the beautiful Shepard State Park located on Mississippi's Gulf Coast where the Pascagoula River meets the ocean. There is a local Native American legend about the Pascagoula River (AKA The Singing River) and that is that if enemy tribes came after the Pascagoula then members of the Pascagoula Tribe would walk hand in hand into the river and sing a mournful death chant together.
