Pearle Street Park

Charlotte, North Carolina

The site that is today's Pearle Street Park was once the site of an operating children's home that the City of Charlotte purchased for $2.5K in 1942. For many years, this was a park where only African Americans were allowed to play. There were other parks that had a "whites only" policy so they gave some recreation space to the African American Community. Today all parks are open to all people. To reserve the picnic shelter or other facility or to speak to staff please call 704-432-4280.
