Lumber River State Park
Welcome to North Carolina's Lumber River State Park located in Orrum on what is a nationally designated wild and scenic river. That means that paddlers come from miles and miles around to explore thie park's adventurous opportunities. Some of the fish include crappie, largemouth bass, and catfish. The river got it's name due to the fact that many lumber resources were harvested and transported along this river in the late 18th century. The park itself was first established in 1989.
