Cottonwood Lake State Recreation Area

Welcome to Cottonwood Lake State Recreation Area in Merriman, Nebraska.

Camping: All 30 of the campsites at Cottonwood Lake State Recreation Area are basic sites which means no electrical hookups and also no dump station. Primitive toilets and water are located nearby. Being located nowhere near any major cities means that the campers here have a great view of the stars.

Fishing: The 60 acre Cottonwood Lake has bluegill, channel catfish, crappie, largemouth bass, northern pike, and yellow perch. Come out and cast a line.

Picnicking: The picnic area at Cottonwood Lake State Recreation Area has 2 shelters, 17 tables and 6 grills. The playground is located nearby and the park's cottonwood trees provide plenty of shade in the picnic area. Come out and bring some meats to cook and bring the family and friends.
