Historic Smithville Park
Welcome to Historic Smithville Park located in Eastampton, New Jersey. This park helps protect what remains of this old village of Smithville which has a spot on both the New Jersey and National Register of Historic Places.
Park History: Smithville started off as a small mill town on the banks of Rancocas Creek but eventually turned into an industrial center that produced woodworking machinery, the Star High Wheeled Bicycle, and a short line railroad. It also offered it's residents a variety of artistic, educational, and recreational opportunities thereby serving as a model industrial town.
Wildlife: Aside from all this history preserved here this park also helps protect an oasis of forests, streams, meadows, and wetlands that help protect the home of numerous wild animals including deer, beavers, foxes, rabbits, hawks, wild turkeys, and great blue herons. Please treat their home with respect.
