Thompson Park
Welcome to Thompson Park located in Lincroft, New Jersey.
Park History: The land that is now Thompson Park once belonged to the family of Geraldine Livingston Thompson. In 1896 the mansion was built as a Thompson family summer retreat. This summer retreat known as the "Brookdale Farm" was used for breeding and training horses. In 1968 the family donated 215 acres of land to Monmouth County for a park. The mansion was used as a visitor center until it burned down in 2006. The new visitors center has been built in the same style. Today this park remembers the belief of Mrs. Thompson that "children have to feel the ground beneath them and go out into the woods and see the trees and birds."
For the lover of the outdoors Thompson park boasts over 14 miles of multipurpose trails, a fishing lake that allows for non-motorized watercraft, an off-leash dog park, picnic tables, and much more. Come on out and have a nice adventure.
