High Point State Park
Welcome to New Jersey's beautiful High Point State Park located near Sussex. This park was first established in 1923 when it's previous owner Colonel Anthony Kuser generously donated the land to the state. At 1,803 feet this is the highest natural point in the State of New Jersey and at the top there is a 220 foot man-made monolith with an observatory inside. On clear days one can see the Pocono and Catskill Mountain Ranges as well as the New York City skyline.
Fishing: High Point State Park offers some excellent freshwater fishing with lakes stocked with trout, and largemouth bass. Come out and bring a line and pole.
Trails: High Point State Park boasts over 50 miles of multipurpose trails for all seasons. People can even access the 2,182 mile Appalachian Trail.
Camping: All of the campsites at High Point State Park are primitive sites which means for tents and not for trailers. There are 50 tent sites. Come out and stay a few nights.
