Welcome to the Majestic Carson National Forest located in the Rocky Mountains of northern New Mexico! The forest's marvelous landscapes range in elevation from as low as 6,000 feet ASL to as high as 13,161 feet ASL at the summit of Wheeler Peak (Highest point in New Mexico).
Wildlife: Carson National Forest helps protect the home of numerous wild critters including bighorn sheep, deer, mountain lions, black bears, and many others. Please treat their home with respect.
For the lover of the outdoors Carson National Forest boasts over 330 miles of trails, the Angel Fire and Rio Costilla ski resorts, many mountains to climb, and so much more. Come on out and explore!
