Dunes Vehicle Recreation Area

Welcome to the Dunes Vehicle Recreation area located south of Farmington New Mexico. This off-road vehicle playground boasts sand dunes, sandy arroyo bottoms, and steep to gentle hillsides. It has been a popular ORV destination for nearly four decades. Since this is public property, one must possess either a driver’s license or learner’s permit in order to operate a motor vehicle here unless A: they are being monitored by somebody 18 years of age or older and possesses a valid driver’s license and assumes responsible for the person benig supervised or B: the person is certified by state government as competent to drive off-road vehicles after successfully completing a state approved operator’s training program. Please play with caution and be aware of natural gas wells and pipelines in the area. Come on out and have a blast!
