Marcy Green
Welcome to New York City's Marcy Green, a tiny piece of urban greenspace named for a very significant man, William Learned Marcy. Marcy was born in Massachusetts in 1786 and attended the prestigious Brown University and served his country in the War of 1812. Upon returning from the war he practiced law and eventually entered politics and would work for State Senator Martin Van Buren, who eventually became President of the United States, as well as for President Andrew Jackson as a minister to the United Kingdom. This park is divided into 3 sections, north, center, and south.
