Welcome to Makamah Nature Preserve in Fort Salonga, New York. Suffolk County first purchased this land in 1973 and helps protect a valuable woodland and wetland habitat where over 94 species of birds have been spotted. Come out and explore over two and a half miles of trails and enjoy some great bird-watching opportunities.
