Murphy’s Brothers Playground

New York City, New York

Welcome to Murphy's Brothers Playground located in New York City's marvelous Manhattan Island just a few blocks away from the East River. This urban playground has been known by three different names in it's nearly 100 year history. It started off in the mid-19th century as property of the Department of Docks and Ferries but in the early 20th Century management was transferred over to the New York City Park's Department and was known as 17th Street Playground for many years. Today this park has a children's playground and courts for basketball and handball.

This was RecPlanet place of the day on September 15, 2016.
